2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Continuity in Excellence

2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Continuity in Excellence

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has become an industry icon, dominating the midsize SUV segment for 30 years. Throughout its five generations, the model has refined and redefined itself while never losing its DNA as a born adventurer capable of conquering any obstacle.

For 2024, the model returns practically unchanged as the current generation debuted for the 2022 model year. The novelty lies in the Limited version, which now features new 18-inch wheels with a painted aluminum finish.

Other than that, the model retains its strengths, and to remind ourselves of how significant they are, let's explore the key highlights of the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Three Competent Powertrains

What's fascinating about this model is the range of powertrain choices. It starts with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, a proven and respected engine. It delivers 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, surpassing the competition and providing a towing capacity of 6200 pounds.

You can opt for the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 with 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque for more power and capability. With this engine, you can tow up to 7200 pounds.

And if you're looking for something different, the plug-in hybrid 4xe version offers power and fuel efficiency. Thanks to its electric component, it boasts 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, plus an all-electric range of 42 kilometres. It's the best of both worlds, especially considering you can still tow up to 6,000 pounds with this variant.

Off-Road Competence

Let’s take a look at another unique aspect that sets the Grand Cherokee apart – its various 4x4 systems. Depending on the chosen model, you'll end up with the Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, or Quadra-Drive II systems. The latter is the ultimate reference, featuring an electronic limited-slip rear differential.

Not to mention the five driving modes you can access behind the wheel: Auto, Sport, Rocks, Snow, and Mud/Sand. In other words, you can constantly tailor the vehicle's chassis to maximize traction, whether off the beaten path or navigating through a snowstorm.

As for comfort, it's ensured by a chassis fine-tuned for the purpose, including the Quadra-Lift air suspension – a technological marvel.

For 2024, the Grand Cherokee is still available in the Laredo, Limited, Overland, and Summit trim levels.
